Description
Newholme is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with some work from the 17th century. It is constructed of cob, which is rendered and colourwashed, and has a thatched roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, with a three-bay rear wing on the left, which was reconstructed around 1930 from three extensions of various dates. The wing has a slated roof. The central entrance has been converted into a window, and there is an access door to the wing. The upper floor features small paned iron casement windows, while the ground floor has 20th-century French windows and a 20th-century glazed verandah. A date of 1682 is inscribed on a lintel but is now covered with rendering. The roofs are hipped, and the interior has been altered.
