Description
No. 81 High Street is a house with origins dating back to the 17th century. It has been raised and altered over time and is constructed of rubble stone with a stone tiled roof. The south front features heavy corner-stones on the right and a row of three 2-light recessed ovolo-moulded mullion windows beneath a single hoodmould on the ground floor to the right. To the left, there is a door with a timber lintel and a pair of casement windows. The upper floor was likely raised for use as a workshop and includes pairs of casement windows, 20th-century metal single casements, and one boarded window. An east end stack is present. On the north side, there is a ground floor 2-light window with an oak mullion, a door to the right, blocked lights, and a single light to the left. The gabled east end features a Bridgwater-tiled entrance projection with a 4-pane window above the door.
