Description

England's Bridge is an accommodation bridge over the Kennet and Avon Canal, built around 1806-1807. It is constructed of brick with stone coping on the parapet. The bridge has a splayed design and features an elliptical arch made of 13-inch bullnosed bricks. At the base of the parapet, there is a two-course string, and the flush half-round copings end in slight piers. A Great Western Railway lozenge loading restriction sign indicates a weight limit of 5 tons. Additionally, there is a stone-capped revetment along the towpath and a slot for a sluice.
