Description

The South Barn at the former Bell Farm, located at RAF Hullavington, dates from the late 18th century and has undergone restoration in the 20th century. It is constructed from squared and coursed rubble, featuring flush rusticated dressed stone quoins and a stone slate roof with half-hipped ends. The barn has a T-shaped plan consisting of five bays, with a southeast midstrey that has a half-hipped roof. There are two-leaf plank doors at the midstrey and a bricked-up cart entrance on the northwest side. To the right of the midstrey, there is a lean-to shed with a corrugated iron roof. Inside, the barn retains its original butt-purlin, collar, and tie-beam roof structure, although some timbers have been renewed.
