Description

These are three cottages located on Moor Green Street, Corsham. One of the cottages is dated 1669 and the group was altered in the 19th century. The cottages are built of rubble stone with a low-pitched slate roof, coped gables, and end and ridge stacks. Each cottage is two storeys high and has a single-window range.

Nos. 24 and 26 feature flush quoins and two 19th-century three-light upper mullion windows. A date plaque reads "E 0 1669," indicating the original construction year. The ground floor of No. 26 retains its original central door in a fine moulded surround, with a three-light ovolo-moulded mullion window on either side. The window to the right of the door and the door itself are sheltered by a single hoodmould, while the window to the left has a similar hoodmould. A 20th-century single-light window is located between the door and the left window, and a 19th-century door is present for No. 24.

No. 28 is a later addition and largely replicates the 19th-century features of the other cottages, with a three-light upper window, a ground-floor door in a flush moulded surround, and a three-light ovolo-moulded window with a hoodmould. These ground-floor features may be of 17th or early 18th century origin.
