Description
Nos 77 and 78 on High Street are 18th or 19th century buildings made of red brick with a pitched slate roof and brick stacks. They stand three storeys tall. The third floor features four sash windows with glazing bars in moulded frames and two blind panels. The second floor has two segment-headed sash windows with glazing bars in moulded frames, two canted bays, and two blind panels. The ground floor includes two symmetrical shop fronts from the 19th century, with canted bays for No 77 and oblong bays for No 78, each with arched heads over the lights. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 65 to 85, The Sun Public House, Nos 88 to 90, the Church of St Peter and St Paul, and Nos 42 to 64 on the opposite side of the street.
