Garden Wall Attached To The West Of Ivy Stables And Extending To South

The garden wall, dating from the early to mid-18th century, is located to the west of Ivy Stables and extends southward. It features a Flemish bond brick facing with vitrified headers on limestone rubble. The wall is L-shaped and is attached to the rear of the coach house. It has freestone moulded coping and an architrave for a 20th-century door. Standing approximately 3 meters high, the wall stretches west for about 20 meters, where it supports a restored 19th-century greenhouse. It then turns south for around 100 meters, with a similar moulded stone doorway at the corner and a raised gravel walk along this section. The wall was likely constructed around the same time as the remodelling of The Ivy. The southern part of the wall was listed separately on October 24, 1986.
