Description

Old Orchard is a house dating to the late 17th century, incorporating the end wall of an earlier building, possibly from the 16th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and painted brick, and has a thatched roof with a north end stack. The north gable displays an exposed full cruck truss, likely from the earlier house. The main range is box-framed, with one and a half storeys, featuring eyebrows over triple casement windows. There is a ground floor 20th-century triple casement window, and a door within a thatched porch, alongside further casements. A 20th-century extension to the south side is clad in applied mock framing.
