Description

The bridge over the River Wylye, located north of Park School House, dates from around 1822. It is possibly designed by Sir Richard Westmacott and constructed by a builder named Fisher. The bridge is made of ashlar stone and features a flat carriageway supported by five low, three-centred arches. The arches are adorned with rustic voussoirs that create heavy Gibbs surrounds and breakwaters. Each arch is separated by block shields. The bridge also includes a cornice and a balustraded parapet with raised panels on the ends.
