Description
The City Arms Inn, located at No 10 in the Market Place, has origins dating back to the 16th century but was refronted in the early 19th century. This building is two storeys high and features tile hanging on its exterior. The gable is adorned with decorative bargeboards, and it has a tiled roof. On the first floor, there is a canted bay window with sash lights and glazing bars. The ground floor showcases an early 19th-century former double shop front with five-light windows that have thin mullions and a transom, along with pointed top panes. The central doors are double glazed and panelled. Although the interior has undergone significant alterations, it still retains a stone fireplace with a four-centred arch on the ground floor.
