Description

The Bennett monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 2 meters north of the east end of the north aisle of the Church of St Mary. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is made of ashlar stone. The tomb features a moulded base and capstone, with baluster angles and slab sides. On the north side, there are two plaques with rebated-angle borders and a central strip adorned with intertwined wreaths. One of the plaques bears an inscription dedicated to W. Bennett, who died in 1838.
