Description

The Barton is a house dating from the later 17th century, constructed of rubble stone with a stone slate roof and end stacks. It stands 2½ storeys high and features a three-window range with a regular two-gabled front. The windows are ovolo-moulded mullion types with hoodmoulds, consisting of two 2-light windows in the attic, three 3-light windows on the first floor, and two 4-light windows on the ground floor, all with king mullions. The main windows have relieving arches. There is a shallow-gabled ashlar porch at the center with a depressed-arched opening. The building has 20th-century additions at each end.
