Description

HULLAVINGTON THE STREET ST 88 SE (west side) 5/48 Lychgate to the east of Church of St Mary GV II

Lychgate. Dated and inscribed on east lintel: 1896/Erected In Memory of Maria Meredith Brown. Timber and clay tiles on stone substructure. Perpendicular style with gables to south and east sides with cusped tracery. Two-leaf gates with pierced quatrefoil panelling. South side gives onto Meredith Brown plot surrounded by dressed stone wall with crocketed pinnacles to corner piers and wrought iron railings.
