Description
There are five chest tombs located in the churchyard, between 8 and 18 metres south-west of the tower of the Church of St. John the Baptist. These tombs date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century and are made of limestone and slate. One tomb is dedicated to Eliza Dredge, who died in 1807, and features rounded corners with plain slate panels. Another tomb commemorates Betty Moody, who died in 1795, and has slate inscription panels along with a weathered top. The pair of tombs to the south are from the mid-18th century and each has two fielded panels, floral pilasters, and flat tops, although the inscriptions are illegible. The northern tomb is also from the 18th century, featuring two fielded panels, fielded pilasters, and a flat top.
