Description

May Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the early 18th century. It is built of Flemish bond brickwork with vitrified headers, and has a double Roman tiled roof with gable end brick stacks. The cottage is two storeys high and has three windows. A central 6-panelled door is sheltered by a gabled canopy, with a 3-light casement window on either side. A three-brick plat band runs along the first floor, above which are three 2-light casement windows. The right return side is partly rendered with chalk and brick bands, and includes an attached outhouse with a blocked doorway and a 2-light casement. The left return side has a single-light casement window and a blocked attic light. Single-storey extensions have been added to the rear.
