Description
The stable at No. 10 is a stable and carriage house built in the 18th century and rebuilt in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of English garden wall bond brick and features a Welsh slate roof with a half-hip at the east end. The building has a gable end facing the road and is two stories tall with a four-window south front. It includes planked doors, 2-light casement windows, and pivot-hung windows. The first floor has a loading door and 2-light casements, along with a gabled former loading bay leading to the attic. The gable end facing the road has double planked doors in a segmental headed opening with a keystone, and a planked loading door above it. The right-hand corner of this end is curved with headers. The rear of the building is windowless. This stable may have originally served the George, which is referenced elsewhere. It is included for its group value.
