Description

Farmhouse, dating from around 1700, with alterations in the 20th century. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed rubble stone and has a hipped tiled roof, with a gabled rendered stack on the right side and a brick stack to the rear. It is arranged in a "L" shape, with an additional wing to the rear. The front of the building has two storeys and three windows. A glazed door is centrally positioned within a bolection-moulded architrave, flanked by a three-light, cyma-mullioned casement window on each side, with a string course above the windows. The first floor has a two-light, cyma-mullioned casement window above the doorway and a three-light mullioned casement window on each side. The right-hand return features a two-light mullioned casement window on the ground floor. The left-hand return has a mullioned casement window on the ground floor and a 20th-century casement window on the first floor. A contemporary wing is located to the rear on the left-hand side, featuring 20th-century casement windows, a 20th-century lean-to addition to the centre, and a late 18th-century wing to the right. Inside, the farmhouse retains chamfered beams with ogee stops, and a large open fireplace with a cyma-moulded, depressed Tudor-arched stone surround in the room to the right of the entrance.
