Description
Manor Farmhouse dates to the 17th century, with alterations in the 20th century. It is a farmhouse constructed of random rubble stone with a concrete tiled roof, coped verges and gable end stone stacks. The building is two storeys with an attic, and has a three-window front. A central gabled porch features a moulded Tudor-arched opening, an ovolo-moulded square inner door surround with a 20th-century door, and a three-light ovolo-mullioned casement with a hoodmould on either side. The first floor has a two-light mullioned casement above the door, with flanking three-light mullioned casements, all with ovolo-moulds and hoodmoulds. Three full attic gables contain two-light ovolo-mullioned casements with hoodmoulds. A former outbuilding attached to the left has been converted into part of the dwelling and includes 20th-century casements and a blocked doorway. The right return has a two-light ovolo-mullioned casement to the ground floor and a blocked mullioned window to the first floor. The rear features 20th-century aluminium casements in enlarged openings. A wooden casement is on the first floor of the left return, with an attached 20th-century flat-roofed extension. The interior contains a deep chamfered beam with stepped and cut stops, exposed joists, a blocked open fireplace in the room to the right of the entrance, and a hall with a chamfered beam with ogee stops, alongside exposed joists. A datestone on the porch is inscribed RG/EG/1675.
