Description
A row of five 18th-century houses is located on the south side of Bridge Street. The houses are constructed of ashlar and have modern pantile roofs. They are three storeys high, with one window per house. Most windows are double-hung sashes set in reveals; those on the second floor are grouped in pairs and separated by wide stone mullions. The ground floor windows are fixed lights with glazing bars dividing them into small panes, with No. 23 having 48 panes and No. 22 having 42 panes. The houses have plain, square-headed doorways and continuous string courses at the first and second floor levels. Nos. 19 to 23 form a group with Nos. 12 to 14, Nos. 16 to 25, the Old Forge, and Nos. 1 and 2 St Margaret's Street.
