Description
Three Gables Restaurant, located at 1 and 2 St Margaret’s Street, originally comprised three 17th-century houses and are now interconnected. The building features rubble walls and stone-tiled roofs, with three prominent gables, the eaves projecting between them. The two storeys contain four windows, each with 3- and 2-light casements featuring leaded glass, stone mullions, and restored dripmoulds. Three square-headed doorways have plain lintels with restored dripmoulds. A tall ashlar stack is situated between the central and left-hand gables, with two shorter stacks on the ridge. The building forms a group with numbers 12-14, 16-25, and the Old Forge on Bridge Street.
