Description

St Peter's Rectory is a mid-19th century house built of red brick with stone dressings. It is two storeys high, with a slate roof hidden behind a parapet that has heavy moulded coping, stepped to suggest gables over the outer bays. A moulded string course runs along the facade. Two small attic casement windows are set within the gables. The first floor features two three-light casement windows and one central two-light casement, each with a drip mould above. The ground floor has two similar three-light casements. A central, gabled porch has a parapet and contains double doors with a four-centred arched fanlight. The building forms a group with numbers 42 to 64 (inclusive), St Peter and St Paul’s Church, numbers 65 to 85 (inclusive), The Sun Public House, and numbers 88 to 90 (inclusive).
