Description
The wellhouse, located to the northwest of Elston Hill Farmhouse, was built between 1840 and 1858. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a chamfered plinth and a pyramidal slate roof. The building has a square plan with a projecting lean-to on the north side. The west elevation includes a timber lintel above a fixed six-light casement window next to a plank door. There is also a plank door at the west end of the lean-to. This wellhouse is part of a group of buildings at Elston Hill Farm that were built for Stephen Mills, an agricultural improver.
