Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 17th century, with 18th-century alterations and a mid-19th-century refacing. The original structure is timber framed, while the 18th-century work is in brick laid in English bond, and the refacing is done in buff brick in Flemish bond. The roofs are covered with tiles and slates. The building consists of two parallel blocks, with the 17th-century block at the rear, which was extended eastwards in the 18th century to create nine bays, featuring a hipped roof at the east end that extends beyond the front block. The front block has four bays and is two storeys high, featuring a contemporary gabled porch with a round arched opening and a half-glazed door located in the second bay. The ground floor has twelve-paned tripartite sash windows, while the upper floor has twelve-paned sashes. The roof is hipped at the return on the left side, and there is a stack positioned between the third and fourth bays. Exposed framing can be seen on the west gable of the rear block, which consists of three panels high. Additionally, there is a Norwich Union fire mark on the rear block.
