Description
The Carpenter monument, located in the churchyard to the south of the Church of St. Peter, is an early 19th-century chest tomb made of ashlar. It features a moulded base, a cornice, and a fluted frieze that is broken forward over two shallow relief plaques on each side. The corners are designed with balusters. The circular plaques display floral decorations in the spandrels and a flower motif in between. On the north side, there are inscriptions commemorating Jane Carpenter, who died in 1803, and Isaac Carpenter, who died in 1811.
