Description
The Hermitage is a detached house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations and additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of squared and coursed rubble, featuring stone dressings and a gabled double Roman tile roof. The house has an L-shaped plan that includes a rear service wing.
The north-west front is two storeys high and has two windows. The windows are 4-light ovolo-moulded mullions with hoodmoulds and 19th-century casements on the left, while the right side has 3-light mullions. There is a central doorway that is framed by an open Doric porch, leading to a panelled door with two rectangular lights. To the left of the doorway, there is an original blocked doorway. On the right side, there is a lean-to addition with a double Roman tile roof, and the service wing at the rear has a similar roof.
