Description
Stoke Cottage is a house dating from the 18th century and early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and attics, with three bays, and has been extended to the right by one wide bay. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door made of Bath ashlar, which is sheltered by a Tuscan porch with an entablature. The windows have been altered; they were originally designed with flat stone voussoirs but are now 16-pane sashes set in raised ashlar surrounds with keystones. To the right of the door, there is a canted bay window. The roof has two small hipped dormers and is hipped on the left side. An ashlar chimney stack is located on the right, and the right extension matches the main building in detail, featuring one dormer and a gable stack.
