Description
Knapp Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with brick dressings and features a two-span tiled roof with gable-end brick stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a front with three windows, which are 12-pane sashes. The central door consists of six fielded panels and includes an integral transom light, topped with a flat wooden hood supported by brackets. On either side of the door are flush sashes set within a moulded architrave. The first floor also has three flush sashes. The right side of the building has one 20th-century casement window on the ground floor. At the rear, there is a 20th-century lean-to extension on the ground floor and two three-light casements on the first floor. The interior was not accessible during the survey in April 1985. Historically, this farmhouse was part of the Giffard estate in 1731.
