Description
This is a mid 18th century chest tomb located about 8 meters east-north-east of the vestry of the Church of St Mary in Grittleton. The tomb is made of ashlar stone and features a moulded base and a cornice that is broken forward over the center, supported by angle piers decorated with foliage. On each side of the tomb, there are two oval raised plaques, and at the west end, there is a cartouche, while the east end displays a skull with an hourglass.
