Description
Nos 12 to 15 Herd Street are 18th-century cottages constructed of red brick, with No 14 featuring chequer brick. They have a pitched old tile roof and red brick stacks, standing two storeys tall. Each cottage displays a brick modillion eaves cornice and has one range of sash windows with glazing bars; those on the first floor have moulded frames. No 15 has an additional sash window on the first floor. Each cottage has one flush-panelled door, except for No 14, which has a modern door, and No 15, which features a planked passage door. No 14 also has a colour-washed brick extension that slightly protrudes under a pent roof, which continues south to cover a porch and includes one Yorkshire casement window with glazing bars. There is a moulded iron rainwater head on No 13. Nos 2 to 6, 9, and 12 to 15 form a group.
