Description

The walls at Maddington Farm, dating from around 1600, enclose 20th-century houses in Abbey Close on three sides. They are constructed of flint with limestone saddleback coping, although some sections have been replaced with pantiles or Roman tiles. These walls are likely the close walls of the Grange at Maddington, which was formerly associated with the Benedictine nunnery at Amesbury.
