Description
The stables, now serving as an almshouse chapel and accommodation, were built in the late 18th century. They are constructed of English garden wall bond brick and feature a tiled hipped roof. The building is two stories high and has three windows, all fitted with sash windows. The central bay projects forward and includes a glazed door set within a 'Tudor'-arched surround, topped with a 20th-century flat wooden hood supported by brackets. On either side of the door are two 20th-century fixed windows. The first floor features a stone plat band and three 9-pane sashes set in beaded stone architraves, with a pediment above the center that displays a lozenge sundial. The corners of the building are accentuated with chamfered rusticated quoins. The right side of the building has two 20th-century fixed windows on the ground floor and one on the first floor. The rear includes a rendered outshut on the left with a 20th-century door and window, while the right side has 20th-century casements. The interior has not been inspected but was altered in 1962.
