Description
This is a pair of small houses, built in the mid to late 19th century. They stand as two blocks on Polebarn Road. The houses are constructed from ashlar stone and feature a decorative string course at the level of the first floor. They have slate roofs with projecting eaves. The design is symmetrical, with a double-gabled front to each block, each containing four windows and a pair of central doors set within plain-pedimented porches. The ground floor windows on the outer sides are tripartite, with stone mullions. Windows in numbers 8, 9, and 11 retain original glazing bars; the remaining windows have been fitted with later glazing and casements. Central doors are also present on the side wings. Rosefield Cottage, wall, Rosefield and Homefield with gatepiers and gates and the wall between Rosefield and the Police Station form a group value setting with numbers 1 to 15 on Polebarn Road.
