The Ayliffe monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 6 meters southwest of the porch of the Church of Saint Mary and Saint Ethelbert. It dates from the mid to later 18th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. The south side features a large oval plaque surrounded by decorative foliate scrolls and angle piers with husk drops. On the north side, there are two shield plaques with ornamented centers and angle piers, along with shield end plaques. An inscription on the west side commemorates Rachel Ayliffe, who died in 1830.
