Description

This is a 17th-century house, with an inscribed date of 1733. It is constructed of painted limestone rubble, featuring a stack on the right-hand side and a thatched, hipped roof. The house follows a three-room lobby entry plan. It has two storeys and a three-window facade. A boarded door is located in the second bay from the right, sheltered by a thatched canopy. The windows are mostly late 19th and 20th-century casements, with horizontal bars, including a central ground-floor three-light window. A mid-20th century rear outshut extension has been added. “DW/1733” is inscribed above the door. Inside, the former hall features a wide fireplace with a chamfered bressumer and a niche on the left side. A late 20th-century staircase is located at the left-hand end of the house. The roof timbers are not visible.
