Description

Enford House is a house, originally the vicarage, dating to the late 17th and 18th centuries, with work undertaken in 1784 and the early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick, with a tiled roof, and includes an earlier wing with a pantiled roof. In 1784, an eastern block was added, consisting of three bays by one bay, and rising two storeys. A datestone from 1784 is present. The main entrance features a central six-panelled door with a fanlight, set within a timber doorcase, itself covered by a bracketed canopy. The windows are twelve-pane and six-pane sashes, each with a cambered brick lintel. The building has brick dentilled eaves and a hipped roof. To the south is an early 19th-century extension, rendered and with a brick gable facing the road. A single-storey building of rat-trap bond brickwork and a 20th-century tiled roof is attached to the west side of the original structure. The house was near dereliction prior to rebuilding in 1784.
