Description

The gate piers at the northern end of the Grand Avenue were originally part of the Tottenham estate and are now associated with Savernake Forest. They likely date from the early 19th century and are constructed of limestone. The design features banded alternating ashlar and rusticated blocks, along with subsidiary attached piers. The piers have moulded cornices and blocks that once supported terminal features, which have since been removed.
