Description

This is a house, originally three cottages, dating from the 16th to 17th centuries. It is timber-framed with brick infill, featuring a stone gable facing the road and a thatched roof. The original single-storey structure has been raised to two storeys, with two bays and a central stack forming a lobby entry. A contemporary rear wing has a brick side elevation visible from the road. The timber frame is three panels high and incorporates corner bracing. The original entrance, opposite the stack, has been replaced with an entrance into the rear wing. Timber casement windows are fitted, with diamond-leaded glass. Inside, ovens are located within the stack, serving both rooms, and there are chamfered spine beams with nicked stops. The building was renovated in 1984.
