Description

The barn at West Dunley Farm was built around 1850 for J. Neeld of Grittleton. It is constructed from rubble stone and features a stone slate roof that extends over the south lean-to stalls, which include a gabled cart entry. The north side has a plain cart entry with a timber lintel and a relieving arch, along with upper loading doors on each side. Inside, the barn has a six-bay layout with a triple purlin roof and king-post trusses that include angle struts. There is a cambered inner arch at the south cart entry. Attached to the southwest corner is a large cart-shed that has a stone slate roof and is open at the west end.
