Description

Paradise Cottage is an early 18th-century house located on the south-east side of Church End, Wilcot. The house is constructed of blue brick with red brick vertical banding and quoins, and has a thatched roof. It comprises three bays, with a single-storey extension to the left. The central entrance features a six-panelled door with a two-light fanlight, sheltered by a canopy supported on cut brackets. The windows are 19th-century timber casements set within segmental gauged brick arches, where the centre bricks form a flush key. Moulded timber eaves run along the top of the building. The roof is hipped, incorporating a central dormer. A stack to the left gable features a datestone marked '1729', and a small moulding above. A rear wing is also present.
