Description

The dovecote at Wilcot Manor House, built in 1737, is constructed from malmstone with brick detailing. It features limestone ashlar around the door and flight port, and has a thatched roof. The dovecote has a circular plan, with an east-facing door that has a raised brick surround, a round arch, and stone abaci and key. The light port has a chamfered-stone surround and a timber platform supported by iron stays. The date is incised on the surround. The structure also has brick dentilled eaves and an octagonal timber glover topped with a lead dome. The interior was converted around 1939 into an air raid shelter, and the ladder has been removed.
