Description
No 8 High Street is a house that has been converted into offices with a flat above. It dates from the 16th to 17th century and features a timber frame with stone that is pebbledashed at the front. The building has a stone slate roof with a hipped dormer and is two stories tall with an attic. It consists of two framed bays and has a one-story slate pitched extension at the rear, along with an end lean-to. There is a stack contained in an additional half-bay to the left, which was likely once a fully framed bay that was reduced when the stack was inserted and a new gable entrance was created.
The front elevation includes a small canted bay window and a large hipped porch supported by brackets, which covers a 20th-century panelled door and window. The first floor features 19th-century timber casement windows. Inside, the building has collar beam trusses with double purlins and a ridge.
