Description
Fosbury House is a house built around 1800, constructed from limestone ashlar with a tiled roof. It is three stories high and features a three by four bay layout. The central entrance is framed by a half-round Ionic portico and has a pair of three-panelled oak doors. Above a plat band, the central bay is accentuated by simple quasi-pilasters and an open pedimented gable. The central window on the first floor is a four-light design. The lateral bays contain a pair of eight-pane sash windows on the ground floor, twelve-pane sash windows on the first floor, and six-pane sash windows on the top floor. The house has wide boxed eaves. The rear elevation includes a three-story, three-bay bow window featuring twelve- and six-pane sashes, and the roof is hipped. The interior has not been seen. Notably, the Huth Library was located in this house until 1918.
