Description

The Rockwork Boathouse is a Grade II listed structure located on the Garden Lake at Stourhead Gardens, built in 1794 for Richard Colt Hoare. It features a facade made of tufa limestone facing the lake, with two arched openings that lead to the wet docks. The boathouse has a roughly double gabled facade that conceals a corrugated iron roof. Inside, there are two wet docks with semi-circular heads, and the roof is a two-span design with arch-braced rafters resembling a wagon roof, supported by stone walls.
