Description

The Barnes monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary, approximately 4 meters south of the chancel. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a corniced table and a moulded base, with recessed corner pilasters. The inscription is lightly incised in ovals surrounded by floral designs, commemorating Thomas Barnes, who died in 1840, and William Barnes, who died in 1819.
