Description
Nos 51 and 53 on High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, possibly originating from the 17th century, and has undergone significant alterations. The building is constructed from limewashed rubble stone and features a stone tiled roof. It has two storeys and an attic, with a gable end facing the street. The gable is coped, and there is a blocked ovolo-moulded single attic light. The first floor has an opening with a hoodmould above it, while the ground floor features a shop front with a central door. On the north side, there is a flush moulded doorcase with a hood supported by brackets and an inserted window. At the rear, there is a range of workshops with a roof that is partly stone-tiled and partly covered with corrugated iron. The central section has three upper casements on the south side, a ground floor 20th-century window with a timber lintel, and a three-light mullion window with a hoodmould, along with a door to the right. This building is included for its group value.
