Description
The entrance wall to The Mansion House, constructed in the early 18th century, is made of ashlar stone. It features two fielded panelled corniced piers topped with urns and raised gatestops that have scroll heads. The entrance itself is filled with an ashlar wall and a gateway that includes a moulded architrave and a six-panel door. On the left side, there is a ramp leading down to a low ashlar wall that returns in rubble stone to the northeast corner of the house. On the right side, another ramp descends to an ashlar wall that ends at a corniced pier with an altered urn. The rubble stone wall beyond, which leads to the service court, is not considered of special interest.
