Description
School House is a Protestant free school built in 1824 by Robert Abraham, now functioning as a house. The building is constructed from ashlar limestone and features slate roofs. It has a central octagon that contains the entrance, with classrooms positioned on the cardinal points, forming a Latin cross layout. The classroom wings are gabled on all sides and include 3-light windows with deeply moulded intersecting tracery and glazing bars. There is an eaves table and crocketed pinnacles on the gables. The octagon has a clerestory with Tudor 2-light windows, and all windows are adorned with hoodmoulds. Atop the octagon is a lantern with a crenellated parapet, featuring 2-light windows and false gunloops.
