Description

The Sweatman monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 3 metres south of the north wall and north of the north transept of the Church of St. Bartholomew. This early 19th-century tomb is constructed of ashlar and features framed plaques on each side, baluster corners, a plinth, a moulded base, and a capstone with a ridged topstone. The inscription commemorates J. Sweatman, who died in 1824.
