Description
Manor Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse located in Newton Tony. It is constructed of flint with brick quoins, lacings, and a side elevation facing the garden, topped with a tiled roof. The building is two storeys high and has a 'U' plan layout with three bays on each side. The entrance is on the south side, in the second bay, featuring a half-glazed door set within an open tiled and gabled porch. The windows are sixteen-paned sash types within segmental-headed openings, although those on the right were replaced in the early 20th century, and the upper floor windows were replaced with PVC in the later 20th century. The roof is hipped, and the west elevation includes a hipped roof over central French windows, along with original 16-pane sashes. There are three brick stacks on the building. A single-storey extension was added to the north side, along with a single-storey wing. Inside, the staircase features two turned balusters for each tread, with a handrail that scrolls to a Tuscan column at the bottom and is wreathed at the landing.
