Description

This is a row of three buildings, numbered 1 to 5, located on the north side of the Market Place in Warminster. The buildings date from around 1831. The frontages are constructed of ashlar stone, featuring an astragal moulding to the cornice and parapet. Number 1 has a decorative band above the first floor, and a layout of one and two windows on the upper floors, with sash windows containing glazing bars. It has a modern shop front. Number 3 has three ranges of sash windows with keystones on the upper floors, also with glazing bars; it also features a modern shop front on the ground floor. A central window on the second floor is blind. At the rear of Number 3, a sash window with a tripartite configuration (three panes) with glazing bars is found on both the first and second floors, with the centre light set higher. The interior of Number 3 features a Regency-style staircase with a scrolled base. Number 5 is situated at the rear of Number 3 and is two stories high, partially covered with climbing plants. It has two evenly spaced windows with glazing bar sashes, a round-arched doorway, and a pebbledash finish to the exterior with a hipped gable end to a tile roof.
